UW Photography Classes

About the Classes

At Andrew Sallmon Marine Photography we specialize in diver training with underwater cameras from amateur to professional. Our philosophy is simple. Classes must:

1) Provide the subject information to the student clearly and concisely.

2) Allow adequate time for feed back from the student.

3) Offer short class periods and flexible scheduling options.

To that end, all classes are designed as 3-hours duration, private (1-2 student) sessions that cover just the information necessary to ensure student success. Semi-Private classes for larger groups are available by special request.

Classes are taught in an informal, relaxed setting using sample images to illustrate the main themes. Each student receives a class outline that will be followed by the instructor during the classroom session and that can be  used as a study guide after the class. Students are encouraged to bring their own images for review and critique.

*If going to a new dive location with marine life that you are unfamiliar with, then please bring copies of images that you would like to be able to create.

This approach has proven itself over the years with hundreds of students as the most efficient method of underwater photography training available. It’s about you, your camera equipment and whatever you want to focus on!

How to get started with your class

Start by selecting the type of class that you want. Choose from the list below the class that most closely matches what you want to learn, such as, Basics, Macro, Super Macro, Wide Angle, Fisheye, or Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. Then decide whether you want classroom only, or both classroom plus ocean training.

Request the class by emailing andy@seait.com. You will get a reply within 24 hours with available dates and time frames.

Now that, that is established, the Instructor will ask for a convenient time to chat for a few minutes by phone to ask a few basic questions to gain an understanding of what your goals are for the class. After that it’s simply show up with your camera gear, (dive gear too, if going in the water) and then make like a sponge and absorb all the info!
